Welcome to Douglas Boathouse, a retreat made for connection. This property brings together two complete homes, The Boathouse and The Keeper’s House, creating one spacious rental designed for families and friends. Together they sleep up to twenty guests in real beds, with nine bedrooms, six bathrooms, and three full kitchens. The main house has space for everyone to gather, from the large dining table that seats fourteen to cozy spots like the sun porch and library. The Keeper’s House adds even more comfort with two bedrooms, its own kitchen, and a second fireplace.
Centrally located between downtown Douglas and Lake Michigan, the property is closer to the beach than most homes in either town. You can walk to local shops, restaurants, and entertainment, or enjoy the quiet of the neighborhood after a day of exploring. Whether you’re sharing stories by the fire pit, grilling dinner outside, or taking a short walk to the water, Douglas Boathouse is a place that feels like it was made for your group.

Six bedrooms, all the same size, with comfortable queen size beds, and plenty of space to unpack and unwind. The “crews quarters”, located on the lower level, has four twin sized bunk beds, privacy curtains and individual lighting. Four full bathrooms are all ceramic and equipped with shower/tub combinations. The fifth bathroom (lower level), is that of the “crews quarters”. It has a perfectly sized kid sink, which your crew will be sure to talk about for years to come. A second kitchen on the lower level provides a second refrigerator, microwave and sink, as well as laundry. The sun porch overlooks the beautiful sun garden and serves as a peaceful and private sanctuary after a long day at the beach or cruising around town.
A ten minute walk or a short bike ride, with Oval Beech less than a five minute drive.

All rentals include full use of the Boathouse (16 guests) and the Keepers House (4 guests). *Our weekly rentals will provide check-in on Fridays at 9 am and check-out Thursdays at 11am. Daily rental’s check-in times will vary depending on our scheduled stays. Please inquire when booking. We continue our increased safety and cleaning measures put into place, as keeping everyone safe and healthy is our utmost priority.
The fees below are applicable to every rental, regardless of length of stay.

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellation more than 60 days prior to arrival date: Full refund.
- Cancellation between 30-60 days prior to arrival date: 50% refund.
- Cancellation within 30 days of arrival date: There will be no refund.

Home Rules & Rental Policies
A credit card (VISA, MC or Discover) deposit equal to 20% of the rental rate (plus travel insurance, if selected) is required to confirm your reservation. However, if you are booking within 30 days of your arrival date, a 100% credit card (VISA, MC or Discover) deposit will be required to confirm your reservation.
